The free throw. Let’s face it: No matter how many times you dissect the Xs and Os of a basketball game, sooner or later, the analysis comes down to how your team did on the charity stripe. In the end, free throws are crucial to a team’s success. These unguarded shots – taken 15 feet from the hoop – eventually separate the winners from the losers. What can drive a coach into even more of a frenzy is the fact that free throws are just that – free shots. And yet, some of the game’s best players struggle at the line (for various reasons). Following are some tips you can use to help your players perfect the art of the free throw.
